Armstrong Falcons vs. Elk River Elks

Tonight's Game:	Two of the last four meeting between these teams have ended in overtime. Both teams play fundamentally sound basketball and have good athletes.
Tonight's Opponent:	Elk River has been to the section finals 9 of the last 10 years, including last season's third place finish in the state tournament. This year they are led by 6'5 post Matt Clauer (finished 3rd in the state in the high jump last year), 6'4 post Ian Macomber and 5'9 sophomore Jack Gavin.
Tonight's Coach:	Randy Klasen is considered one of the best coaches in Minnesota. He has 327 career wins in boys and girls hoops.
Season Update:	Freshman Teams: The A and B team started their season last Thursday with impressive wins over Minnetonka. Soph/JV/Varsity: This is the opening game for all three teams.
Team Building Day:	Rick Rassier, a motivational speaker led our team in two hours of fun activities meant to enhance our team attitude. The players worked on skills and concepts such as: working together to achieve a goal; commmunication skills; overcoming frustration; leadership and staying chemically free.
Upcoming Games:	Our next game is Thursday at Blaine, and we also have home games next week vs. Stillwater on Tuesday and St. Paul Harding on Friday.
Season Outlook:	We have a great bunch of players who love to work hard and have fun. We can shoot the 3 and love to pass the ball. Defense and rebounding are the great equalizers, and with our size we will need to improve in those areas throughout the season. Our enthusiasm should carry us through a successful season.
New Scoreboard:	Thanks to the boys and girls basketball boosters, and the boys and girls traveling association for raising the funds to pay for our beautiful new scoreboard.
Youth Tournament :	This is a reminder that we host an MYAS super saver tournament on Saturday and Sunday, December 16/17. Your help with volunteering at this tournament is appreciated .
